For those patients who do not require long-term services or comprehensive support we also offer consulting services. Consulting is for those patients who may want to investigate a single issue or two, or maybe just want some extra wellness guidance. One may also consider our consulting services if you’d like more comprehensive conventional lab testing or to pursue functional lab testing (hormones, stool testing, micronutrient evaluations, etc.)
Difference between Integrative Wellness Program and Consulting
- Consulting visits are paid at time service as stand alone visits – no up front purchase of appointment packages.
- With Consulting, written communication is limited to logistics around appointment scheduling and labs; medical advice or recommendations are not given outside of appointment times.
- Much more focused recommendations tailored to the specific issue we are working towards learning about (Consulting) vs. more holistic wellness aspirations across multiple domains (Wellness Program).
- No discounts on any supplements purchased through Michigan Functional and Integrative Medicine with Consulting.
Visit Structure and Fees
New Patient Consulting Visit – VIRTUAL – $400.00*
• Appointment will begin at scheduled start time.
• Time will be spent with physician to dive into medical question, history, review of labs as well as physical exam as indicated. Recommendations tailored to the visit will be provided as well as lab tests ordered as necessary.
Follow Up Patient Visit – VIRTUAL – $400.00/HR or $210/half HR*
• Appointment will begin at scheduled start time.
• Review of previous recommendations and effectiveness as well as detailed assessment of any new labs that were ordered. Updated recommendations will be made.
Integrative consulting visits are eligible for reimbursement through your Flexible and Healthcare Spending Accounts (FSA & HSA).
In order to keep price for services low, Venmo and Zelle are preferred methods of payments. Credit cards are accepted however but have an associated convenience charge.

Cancellation policy:
Your appointment time is reserved just for you. A late cancellation or missed visit leaves that appointment time unable to be filled by another patient. As such, we require 24 hours notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Patients who provide less than 24 hours notice, or miss their appointment, may be charged a cancellation fee.
1st late cancellation/no-show = 50% of appointment fee
2nd late cancellation/no-show = 75% of appointment fee
3rd late cancellation/no-show = 100% of appointment fee and possible inability to schedule future visits.
Insurance Coverage and Reimbursement
At Michigan Functional and Integrative Medicine we focus our attention, time and effort on caring for our patients directly – without oversight from non-medical administrators. This allows us to focus on true wellness and creating HEALTH vs. just treating sickness or “sickcare,” as insurance will not be dictating how long we can spend with patients or what tests we may offer you.
We are a “direct pay” practice which means we do not file with insurance companies and therefore are considered out of network with your insurance policy. Following your appointment, if requested, we can provide a detailed Superbill that you may file with your insurance carrier for Out of Network Provider reimbursement. We cannot guarantee however, that your insurance will reimburse for all or part of your visits.
